Hyatt Place Bakersfield

I cannot sing the praises of this property and their incredible staff enough. Hands down, this will be the local hotel I refer anyone to and I am already planning on partnering with them for a large event next year, too. Our non-profit needed to have a board meeting for our 35 or so board members. I've planned a lot of these meetings over the year and it can be a real headache to work out everything with the hotels-- but that wasn't the case at all here. Jodi was an absolute DREAM to work with and made the process so easy that I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. I'm happy to report that it never did-- from start to finish, my time working with everyone at this property was incredible. The property itself is beautiful, clean, and modern, all while being stylishly appointed. The meeting space was fantastic and the team did a great job setting it up to our specifications (even sending photos ahead of the event to make sure it was to my liking!). Our guests reported that the rooms were incredible comfortable and clean. The breakfast was also a huge hit! The location of this property is also wonderful, with easy access to great restaurants and local amenities. One thing I really want to highlight is the incredible team that makes this property so great. From Jodi, to the team at the front desk, to the housekeeping staff- everyone was just so helpful, lovely, and wonderful. What a tremendously positive reflection on the Hyatt brand. 10/10 would absolutely recommend.

I gave this hotel a 4 out of 5 overall for 2 reasons. Our pull out sofa bed wasn't clean, the pillows and sheets were used and were dirty. When I went to the front desk they did give me clean sheets and a clean pillow. But still disappointed that I had to ask for clean stuff. Number 2, the shower head and water pressure was awful, it really was. We travel a lot as a family, and have stayed all over the country in different hotels, and this shower had to be one of the worst ones. On the positive side of this review, besides the sofa bed, everything else in the hotel and room seems very clean. It was a great location, easy parking. The room had plenty of space, and the beds were very comfortable. We will most likely stay here again when in Bakersfield, just hope the shower is a lot better. Also one last thing, the staff at the front desk was great, and very helpful with some other (not really important) issues that did come up during my stay. Because of that, we think we will be back. One huge thank you to Ashley at the front desk, for helping us out a few times. Even though she looked tired and was busy, she never showed me anything but great customer service. She alone made our stay here better. Thank you Ashley! You definitely deserve a raise!

We were passing through on our way to King’s Canyon NP. I was going to book a cheap simple motel and then decided to go for this Hyatt. Had a great one night stay. The hotel caters towards travelers and folks on business. It’s well maintained with great staff that were kind and focused. Appreciated the laundry room as well to clean up after our kids, very easy app to download and use instead of quarters. Breakfast was also great and fresh though standard hotel fare. In a safe area as well with a Trader Joe’s across the street. Ive driven cross country many times and I’m learning to spend a bit extra ($50) on hotels like this. Booking was cheaper on the Hyatt site.

I booked for 3 days 2 nights because it is close to where my husband’s medical procedure. When we arrived at the hotel, almost midnight Dec 13 from a 4hr long drive, no luggage cart available but it’s all good since we can manage to bring it all in our room. Our room number is 319, so when we got into the room, it has a weird smell. At first, i didnt mind it at all. My usual thing everytime we checked into a hotel, i had to check bathrooms. I was about to use the toilet when i saw a red stain next to the shower door. like a lot of red stain. then onto the wall. i also had to take a closer look. My first thought, its a blood. So i went out from the bathroom and got my phone not to take a picture but i needed flashlight to confirm my suspicions. And yes it was blood, because it was also under the sink table. i was so scared and told my husband about it. i ran to the front desk and told them about it. Luckily we were transfered at the 4th floor. But still, im not comfortable anymore. I didnt even had the time to take picture because i was really scared. when we were at the other room, i tried calling customer service. but to no avail. i also had a chat with customer service thru chat room. i will add photo of the script. in the morning, i told the front desk what had happened and they told me that they will inform the manager. that is dec 14. Dec 15 when i got a call from the front desk that they wanted to talk to me. so i went to the front desk and told me i will get 20% discount for the 2 days of stay. I also email hyatt global. I think im writing this review for awareness. maybe the 20% discount was a confirmation that there was really a blood in our room. I was expecting when i went to talk to the front desk that they would just tell me, its just a stain leak from the faucet or whatever.
